and the tides set your rhythm.

Hidden away on Scotland’s southwest coast, Port Beg Cottage offers something truly rare — the chance to "live with the sea", not just look at it. Playful sea otters lives among the nearby rocks, and deer are known to wander through the garden in the early morning. Dolphins are sometimes seen gliding across the bay, and seals may visit the nearby stones to rest or feed. Here, the boundary between home and sea disappears... and even from the wood-fired hot tub, you can watch the tides shift, listen to the waves crash, and feel the changing moods of Loch Ryan from dawn to dusk. It’s a place where you can enjoy the sea all day and night, through every season, becoming part of its rhythm rather than merely passing by.

Inside, the open-plan living area welcomes you with large windows framing endless sea views, a wood burner, Smart TV, and comfortable seating for cosy evenings by the fire. The adjoining garden room is a bright and playful retreat — complete with football table, board games, books, LEGO and even a disco lights!, The garden room have also a sofa bed that sleeps two additional guests. Three restful bedrooms include a king-size room with a free-standing bath facing the sea, a double room with en-suite shower, and a twin room with its own TV. The main bathroom offers both bath and shower facilities. Outside, the patio meets the coastline, offering a front-row seat to the changing tides.

Step straight from the patio or garden onto the coastline, where grassy edges meet rocks and sandy stretches revealed at low tide, with sweeping views of Loch Ryan from almost every room. Dine outdoors, light the BBQ or fire pit, or sink into the hot tub beneath a canopy of stars. With 2 acres of private lawns, orchard, and coastal garden, and no passing traffic, this is a sanctuary of space, peace, and privacy — where every hour is touched by the sea.

From your doorstep, you can join the Galloway coastal path for walking or cycling adventures along the loch and cliffs.
